Why we founded Archoral

At Archoral, we found that most tools for preserving family history were built for perfect data — not real life. Families are complex. Stories are messy. Photos are scattered across phones, drives, and cloud folders. And the moments that matter most — the laughs, the rituals, the textures — rarely fit into rigid systems.

So we created something different.

Archoral is built to help you preserve what really matters: the people, the places, the routines, the objects, the stories. Kate Guancy

Kate Forry Guanci, BC-DEd

CEO / Founder

Kate Guanci, CEO, movie industry prop master for over 25 years and brings a wealth of organization, creativity and problem-solving skills to Archoral. As well as her vast knowledge as an amateur genealogist.

Kate rose thru the ranks from PA to Production Designer, working mainly in the world of commercials, biopics and documentaries. After a decade of successful commercial work, she left the industry to work with the United States Military. In using the skills acquired in the world of production she was part of a team assembled to assist in designing training villages and wartime scenarios. This was to aid in educating our troops with Cultural Immersion programs before entering the Iraq/Afghanistan war zone.

Returning to production work, Kate turned more to Feature Films and Television. Her previous training in construction, set decorating, team leadership, budgeting and task management led her straight to the “world of specifics” as a Department Head.

She has since retired from the industry to focus full-time on creating the ultimate solution for archivists of all types.

LaVern Sula

LaVern Sula

Co-Founder

With over 40 years of experience working at an Executive Management level across the globe, she has built an impressive career portfolio within renowned organizations such as Archoral, Argus Cyber Security, General Motors, and Next Stage Development. Throughout her extensive tenure, she has consistently demonstrated her ability to drive transformative change by effectively combining technical expertise with strategic business strategies, resulting in improved efficiencies and notable bottom-line results.

Her career has noteworthy achievements, including the establishment of the North American Division of Argus Cyber Security and the successful implementation of the automotive cyber security department at General Motors. She has also showcased her exceptional leadership skills by overseeing Technical Centers in both GM Canada and GM India, as well as effectively managing the global electrical division for General Motors across five countries.

During her leisure time, she finds great pleasure in engaging in activities such as golfing and playing video games, which provide a delightful escape from her professional commitments.

Sayeed Hasan

IT Director

Sayeed, a seasoned developer with 11 years of experience, excels in crafting dynamic and functional web applications. His expertise spans various responsibilities, including managing data storage infrastructure, developing web applications, overseeing computer hardware, and guiding team development efforts to ensure successful project delivery. Sayeed remains proactive in staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, with a focus on incorporating them into operations and activities to drive continuous improvement.

During his leisure time, he finds solace and enjoyment in watching movies and playing games. These recreational activities provide him with a much-needed source of fun and relaxation.

Shareful, a seasoned programmer with 17 years of experience in the software industry, is a dedicated full-stack engineer. With a profound passion for both cutting-edge technologies and problem-solving in legacy applications, he possesses a versatile skill set.

His expertise is with popular technologies such as PHP, JavaScript, and RDBMS, and has honed his abilities in API development and the creation of custom, intricate web applications and software.

During his leisure time, Shareful indulges in reading books and immersing himself in the excitement of football and soccer games.

Fedor Maksimov

Fedor Maksimov

QA Engineer

Fedor, an experienced Medical Advisor and QA professional, has built a diverse career spanning the pharmaceutical, healthcare, and IT industries. With a strong foundation in medicine, Fedor initially trained as a bariatric surgeon, gaining extensive experience in surgical procedures and patient care. This clinical expertise later transitioned into medical advisory roles at leading pharmaceutical companies such as Teva, Bayer, and Reckitt, where Fedor played a key role in clinical strategy, regulatory affairs, and evidence-based decision-making.

Alongside a distinguished medical career, Fedor also developed expertise in Quality Assurance within the IT sector. With hands-on experience in testing methodologies, automation tools, and software quality processes, Fedor ensures that healthcare and technology products meet the highest standards of reliability and performance. This unique combination of medical and IT knowledge allows for a comprehensive approach to problem-solving, bridging the gap between healthcare innovations and technological advancements.

Sasha Maksimov

Project Manager

Sasha has over a decade of experience working in the IT industry, specifically as an IT Business Partner and IT Program Manager. Throughout Sasha’s career, Sasha has had the privilege of contributing expertise to companies like Mars and Johnson&Johnson. Sasha’s passion lies in driving digital transformation and optimizing IT strategies to align with business objectives effectively.

With a profound understanding of Agile methodologies, Sasha has successfully led and managed numerous complex projects, ensuring seamless collaboration between cross-functional teams. Sasha’s ability to adapt and thrive in dynamic environments has been instrumental in delivering innovative solutions and achieving remarkable results.

Sasha takes pride in problem-solving skills, which allow proactive addressing of challenges and ensures the smooth execution of initiatives. As an advocate for continuous improvement, Sasha consistently strives to enhance processes and foster a culture of creativity and collaboration within teams.

Komal Padaria​

Software QA Engineer

Komal Padaria, an experienced Software QA Engineer, has dedicated over 8 years to ensuring the robust and error-free delivery of products. Beginning her career as a JAVA Developer, she eventually found her passion in the captivating realm of Testing. As she explored this field further, she realized its ability to impart knowledge across diverse domains, fueling her determination to become an exceptional QA professional.

Komal possesses a versatile skill set that encompasses Use Cases/Test Cases Design, as well as proficiency in tools such as Postman, Swagger, Jmeter, Redmine, Azure Logic Apps, Playwright,  Confluence, Trello, and JIRA. These competencies empower her to confidently address various testing challenges, ensuring top-notch product quality and client satisfaction.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Komal finds joy in traveling and immersing herself in different cultures.

Daniel Sula

Director, Business Development

Dan Sula is a customer-facing leader at Archoral, focused on partner enablement and live demonstrations that help people quickly understand how Archoral turns photos, records, and family history into a structured, story-ready archive. He’s known for making complex workflows feel straightforward—guiding users from “Where do I start?” to confident next steps, whether in a one-on-one conversation, a booth demo, or a partner presentation.

Dan brings more than 30 years of engineering and automation experience delivering complex technical systems from feasibility through execution. He currently serves as Senior Robotics Engineer at Patti Engineering, where he leads automation projects including feasibility engineering studies and simulation work using tools such as Process Simulate and MotoSim to validate process performance, quality, and cycle-time requirements. He also leads Automation Focus, LLC, advising end users, integrators, and investors on project planning, execution strategy, and talent development.

Across leadership roles with organizations including ABB Robotics and FANUC Robotics, Dan has built a reputation for clear communication, disciplined delivery, and results in high-stakes environments. At Archoral, he applies that same rigor and clarity to helping families and organizations preserve, organize, and activate the stories that matter—making the platform approachable, credible, and ready for real-world adoption.

Anees Thanikal

Creative Director

Anees, a highly skilled Creative Director, possesses an unwavering passion for crafting user experiences. His expertise lies in design operations and systems, which enable him to bring order to complex projects, delivering outstanding results.

With a remarkable professional journey spanning 15 years, Anees has garnered extensive experience in diverse areas of graphic design. He excels in the creation of branding collaterals, web and graphics design, Application UI/UX, and marketing materials, showcasing his profound domain knowledge.

Throughout his career, Anees has collaborated with prestigious global organizations, including White Melon Advertising, Vanilla Networks, Sense Incorporated, and Firstsource Solutions. He takes great pride in fostering trust-based relationships that ignite and inspire a shared long-term vision.

When not immersed in his work, Anees indulges in his passion for sports. He particularly enjoys playing football and cricket, finding joy and relaxation in these activities.

Olajide Olanrewaju

Olajide Olanrewaju

Full-Stack Engineer

Jide is a Full-Stack PHP Engineer with over 15 years of experience building and scaling complex web applications across industries including hospitality, ecommerce, fintech, and SaaS. He specializes in architecting secure, high-performance systems and delivering end-to-end solutions from frontend UX to backend infrastructure.

His technical expertise spans PHP 8+, JavaScript, Node.js, REST/GraphQL APIs, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, and cloud platforms like AWS and DigitalOcean. Jide is known for his strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to translate business needs into elegant, maintainable software.


Beyond engineering, he values collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning. Outside of work, Jide enjoys reading, listening to music, and exploring the wonders of nature.

With a strong academic background, Heather holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and a Master of Business Administration. Her lifelong passion for understanding human behavior and social dynamics has fueled her professional journey. She has skillfully crafted strategic roadmaps for multinational organizations, facilitating transformative change through collaboration across diverse stakeholder groups, intuitive process design, and robust data analysis. Heather combines that experience in her approach with indexing so individuals can capture the essence of their unique journey and unlock the richness and depth of their personal stories through broad and inclusive indexing.

Rachel Austin​

Marketing

As an entrepreneur, Rachel has dedicated herself to a variety of entrepreneurial endeavors since the age of 17, when she founded a small art business. Her unwavering passion for entrepreneurship has driven her involvement in numerous aspects of the business world. Rachel has successfully owned multiple for-profit businesses, with a primary focus on the ecotourism and healthcare education sectors.

Her experience as a business owner naturally led to a transition into consulting, where she has provided her expertise to multiple small to medium-sized companies across all areas of business development. This includes designing marketing plans, developing programs, implementing HR strategies, fostering team-building, and promoting safety education.

Rachel’s dedication extends beyond the for-profit sector, as she has actively engaged with non-profit organizations both as a board member and a volunteer. She is particularly passionate about outdoor education and sustainable agriculture, currently serving on the boards of Wild EDU and First Coast Urban Ag.

Stewart

Stewart Traiman

Inclusivity Advisor

Stewart, an accomplished professional in Health Information Technology and a skilled Genealogist, holds advanced degree from Stanford University School of Medicine.

Since 2014, he has been an invaluable volunteer with the California Genealogical Society. Stewart’s dedication led him to serve on the Board of Directors for six years, with a notable five-year tenure as recording secretary. For a remarkable eight years, he published the monthly CGS eNews, demonstrating his commitment to sharing valuable genealogical insights. Currently, he continues to contribute his expertise as a volunteer on the Digital Historian Committee.

Stewart’s passion for genealogy is evident through his continuous pursuit of knowledge. He completed the esteemed ProGen #49 program and actively engages in expanding his genealogical education through participation in national conferences and annual institutes such as GRIP, IGHR, and SLIG. Additionally, he is an accomplished public speaker, captivating audiences in the US and UK with engaging presentations on “LGBTQ Genealogy” and “Excel for Genealogists,” which have become his most sought-after topics.

Since 2018, Stewart has shared his wealth of knowledge through his LGBTQ Genealogy blog and other subjects. His aim is to raise awareness that not everyone in our family trees identified as heterosexual, and that recognizing and embracing the stories of LGBTQ individuals enriches our understanding of our family histories.

Tamika

Tamika Strong

Genealogy Advisor

Tamika Strong, a distinguished professional, earned her Bachelor of Arts in African American Studies from Emory University. She furthered her education by obtaining a Master of Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Archival Studies from Clayton State University.

For 15 years, Mrs. Strong served Georgia’s citizens as a dedicated librarian within the DeKalb County Public Library System and the Georgia Public Library Service. Transitioning to the role of an archivist over five years ago, she now connects researchers with the abundant resources available at the Georgia Archives, supporting them in their endeavors.

Tamika has conducted workshops at esteemed institutions, including her Alma Mater, Emory University, the DeKalb History Center, and the Digital Library of Georgia. She leads a monthly genealogy discussion group and actively participates in several genealogy organizations. Notably, Tamika is an engaged member of the Georgia Genealogical Society, the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society (AAHGS) – Metro Atlanta Chapter, and holds a position on the Board of the Georgia Archives Institute. Driven by the thrill of research, Tamika finds joy in assisting others in discovering their ancestral roots while continuing her own journey of exploration.
